Hi! My name is Simão Paula and I am a child of the 90s, I was born in 1988 in Covilhã, and I come from a land in the corner of Serra da Estrela, Teixoso (derived from the Teixo tree), where I spent all my childhood. Since I was little, I've been completely addicted to music and I love watching a good movie or TV show. I am still from the time of video clubs where every friday I would asked my dad to book a movie. I also remember my mother having a camera, which I loved using to film everything that came my way. My first camera was an analog Olympus. I've always loved recording moments and that's what later led me to get to know photography better.
In 2015 I decided to buy a “more serious” camera. I started to observe more closely all the images formed by my eyes and I realized that the only thing that went through my mind was to
capture that exact moment, formed naturally or created by me. I discovered that when I'm photographing, I feel that there is only me and the image, as if we were a couple in love and that the rest around me doesn't matter. I believe that is called passion. In 2017, as my passion grew, I decided to attend a professional photography course at the World Academy school, where I learned a lot from professional photographers. At the school I had the opportunity to develop projects in the areas of concerts, theatre, publicity and travel/nature. After the course, I decided to use this passion for photography to create, immortalize and relay the unique moments of people's days, something that makes me very happy and fulfilled personally and professionally.
